Duck, Duck, Goose
Sorry, but I have to make this quick.
The girls are home. My Mom was here, and I got up at 3 am this morning to get her to the airport to fly to Alaska to see my sister. (I did not know about the new terror alert this morning, so I am not really positive that she even made it....)
Today was also my department's staff summer crazy day out. We went to Seattle and spent the whole day.
The morning was spent "riding the Ducks". It's a touristy thing, but absolutely and totally fun. The Ducks are these 60 year old vehicles that can drive on land and float in water like a boat. So, the tour consists of driving madly around Seattle, quacking at people on the street with specially made quackers, and then driving into Lake Union for a tour of the houseboats, etc.
This time was especially interesting because the Duck we were riding in blew a drive shaft in the middle of the lake and we had to be towed in.
It was fantastic!
Then, we had a 4 hour scavenger hunt around the city.
It was truly a blast and tons of fun. Here are some pictures.
Oh....and when I got home Miss Maya was puking.
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. Welcome back, eh?
The aforemention specialized quacker. Oh, and we were going fast right at this point. The girls are home. The other duck with the other half of our group. Gasworks park is in the background.
Trying to get to the dock. The abandoned broken Duck sitting forlornly at the dock.

It's funny, just yesterday I was thinking that Anth and I should go on the Duck tour around Philly, even though we live there...just to be corny like that. Now I think your post was a SIGN and I HAVE to go.
Glad the girls are back, and hopefully Maya will be back in fighting form in no time.
I've heard about those tours before. They sound like a lot of fun, with the exception of the being towed in part. :)
How come everyone has heard of the Duck Tours but me??? The first time I'd ever heard of them was from you, Shari.
ps It's like Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang right?
Shariiiiiiiiiiiii
Christine - You have to go! There is nothing like it! But you must promise to get into it and be a dork and not get all serious and adult like or that just totally ruins the whole experience. Promise?
Trinamick - Actually, the towing in part was one of the best parts. The driver switched the music to the theme from Gilligan's Island and we all danced.
Anika - Totally like Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang. Man, I love you - your brain and mine were separated at birth.
OOH Aqua Duck! We have one of those in Sydney, you see it driving round heaps full of tourists.
Cos i'm not a tourist I haven't/won't do it, but was tempted up in Queensland. It looks fuN!
lol... those ducks freak me out!

when i was in ottawa, we were thinking about helping the tourists out by laying down in front of the imfamous amphibious vehicle and yelling out the dangers. instead we just laughed and prayed for them.
glad you had fun, with no casualties!
